American Legion to hold Tenderloin Dinner Thursday, March 24
On Thursday, March 24, from 5-7 p.m. the American Legion George G Luckey Post 57 will hold a Tenderloin Dinner. The cost for the meal is $10.00. The meal includes an 8 oz. Tenderloin, french fries, coleslaw and dessert for $10.00.The Legion is located at 105 R Ave. in Vinton.
IOWA RURAL DEVELOPMENT COUNCIL ANNOUNCES 2022 IOWA RURAL SUMMIT
Iowans interested in issues vital to rural communities are invited to attend the 2022 Iowa Rural Summit, organized by the Iowa Rural Development Council. The event will be held on April 12th and 13th at the Gateway Hotel and Convention Center in Ames, Iowa. Communities are encouraged to register teams of three, though individuals are also eligible to attend the event.

Dysart to hold Iowa's Shortest Parade March 17, at 12:15 p.m.
Dysart's Mayor, Tim Glenn, introduced the idea of holding "Iowa's Shortest St. Patricks's Day Parade" to the City Council earlier this month. "WHY?" you might ask. "We like to do fun and unique events in Dysart!" he said."I've always wanted to have one, and having it over the lunch hour allows businesses and more people to participate...and be able to watch NCAA basketball and our BIG10 Champ Hawkeyes!" The mayor said that the parade will start at "O'Main and McWilson" streets and end at the Dysart Gorge (this is an art display that was painted on the street in Dysart back in 2018.
